Bayeux Tapestry

Classified among the Unesco World Heritages sites, the Bayeux Tapestry is a huge needlework from the  XI century, telling the story about William the Conqueror. 

The Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry takes you to the heart of History and illustrates the Conquest of the English Throne by William the Conqueror, from 1064 until the Hastings Battle, symbol of his victory. 

The Bayeux Tapestry is now displayed in the "William the Conqueror center", very close from the Hotel. It will be an easy walk to go and see this masterpiece of roman art, registered in the Unesco World Heritage. 

The Bayeux Tapestry in figures :

  • Made between 1066 and 1082
  • 70 meters long et 50 centimeters high
  • 9 natural wool tones on flax pieces, with a weight of almost 350 kg.
